by ex-Facebookers, for ex-Facebookers (aka Metamates) - a lookup table of similar tech & services

Browse with sticky headers — open the latest successful run, then its github-pages website link. This shortcut follows the current repository, so forks open their own site after enabling Pages. A direct site link is also available in the repository’s About section when configured.

No confidental projects, please.

Table viewer

GitHub’s README renderer strips custom CSS, so sticky headers require a separate webpage. This viewer renders the Technology table above directly from this file; keep editing the Markdown table to update its contents.

The viewer follows your device’s light or dark appearance automatically, including the sticky header, links, row highlights, and scrollbars. Printing uses light colors.

Publish your fork

  1. In your fork, open Settings → Pages and select GitHub Actions as the build source.
  2. Open Actions and enable workflows if GitHub asks.
  3. Run Publish table to Pages from your default branch. Future pushes to that branch rebuild and publish the site automatically.
  4. Open the deployment URL shown in the workflow or the repository’s Deployments section. You can also add it to the repository’s About → Website field for a direct link.

The README uses a relative workflow link because GitHub does not substitute repository names into Markdown links. It stays within the current fork, is visible without signing in, and leads to the site’s actual deployment URL, including custom Pages domains. A fork without Pages enabled has no published site yet.

The site’s View on GitHub link uses GITHUB_REPOSITORY during the workflow build. Local builds use the origin remote, falling back to the original repository when no Git metadata is available. Set GITHUB_REPOSITORY=owner/repo to override it.

Run locally

With Node.js 20 or newer installed:

npm ci
npm start

Open http://127.0.0.1:4173 and scroll inside the table. Its column headers stay visible, including when scrolling horizontally on a narrow screen. The table can also be focused with Tab and scrolled with the arrow keys or Page Down.

npm run build creates a self-contained dist/index.html that can be opened directly or served by a static host such as GitHub Pages. It needs no browser JavaScript or network access. Rebuild after changing the table.
